The Missouri Youth Show Pig Circuit (MYSPC) is excited to announce the selection of its first-ever Junior Board. This group of outstanding young swine exhibitors will be responsible for assisting at sanctioned shows throughout the 2024 season, planning member activities, and mentoring younger MYSPC members.

 

Junior Board members include:

 

 

Makayla McCurdy – Wellsville, Missouri Makenna Merrifield – Adrian, Missouri
Makayla is a sophomore at Van-Far High School. She is active in FFA, National Junior Honor Society, and softball. She is also a member of her 4-H chapter, and has served as secretary and president. She currently serves as the 4-H Council Representative, where she attends county meetings. Makayla was a member of the 2nd Place FFA Swine Facility Management Contest Team (hosted by the Missouri Pork Association) in 2023. Outside of school, she is a member of the First Presbyterian Church, and has been a member of the MYSPC for two years. Makenna is a senior at Adrian High School. She plays volleyball and is vice president of the National Honor Society. She is also active in 4-H and FFA, was president of the 4-H club for many years, and has held the offices of historian, sentinel and secretary with her FFA chapter. Makenna has been a MYSPC member for four years.
 

Michaela Miller – Bogard, Missouri Cole Murphy – Houstonia, Missouri
Michaela is a freshman at Carrollton High School. She participates in basketball, football cheer, baton twirling, golf, and band. She is also active with FFA and 4-H, and has held the offices of president and secretary for her 4-H club. Outside of school, Michaela is a member of the Immanuel Lutheran Church Youth Group, National Junior Swine Association, and Team Purebred. She has been part of the MYSPC since 2020. Cole is currently a junior at Lakeland College, is active in numerous clubs, and was named All-American on the Lakeland College Livestock Judging Team. During high school in Sweet Springs, he was active in basketball, baseball, track and field, FBLA, FCA, National Honor Society and FFA. He was named Area 6 FFA President during the 2020-2021 school year. Cole was also a member of the State FFA Reserve Champion Livestock Judging Team in 2021 and represented Missouri at the 2022 National Western Roundup. He has been involved in the MYSPC for 16 years and is the only youth to be a member since its inception in 2009.

 

Kaden Roberts – Niangua, Missouri Mattalie Shaw – Nelson, Missouri
Kaden is a senior at Lebanon High School. He is actively involved on both the Varsity Tennis and Varsity Swim Teams as well as FFA, where he is a member of the Livestock Judging Team. He is also a member of the Lebanon Technology and Career Center’s Welding Team and competes with other local teams. Kaden has been a MYSPC member for four years. Mattalie is a freshman at Slater High School. She is a member of the Slater FBLA and FTA chapters, and currently plays basketball. She is also active in the Slater FFA Chapter and is vice president of her 4-H club. Outside of school, Mattalie helps with activities at the First United Methodist Church in Marshall. She has been a member of the MYSPC since 2021.
