Columbia, Mo.—Rebecca Sjostrand, a senior at Southern Boone County High School, has been chosen as a recipient of a $250 Missouri Pork Industry Scholarship from the Missouri Pork Association.
Rebecca currently works on the family farm where she helps with a small swine enterprise. She also owns and operates a 180 layer hen operation, and provides full customer service by taking orders and delivering eggs to customers.
She is very active in school activities, and is president of the Ashland FFA, Area IV FFA Officer and president of the Englewood 4-H. Rebecca is a member of the Missouri Cattlemen’s Foundation, National Honor Society and the Southern Boone Basketball Team.
Upon graduating, Rebecca plans to attend the University of Missouri and pursue a degree in veterinary science. Her ultimate goal is to become a large animal veterinarian.
Rebecca is the daughter of Brian and Jeanne from Hartsburg.
