Attorney General Candidate Kurt Schaefer Receives Missouri Pork Association Endorsement

Columbia, Mo., – Attorney General candidate and State Senator Kurt Schaefer, R-Columbia, has received the endorsement of the Missouri Pork Association. Schaefer has been a champion for Missouri farmers during his time in the legislature and is currently on his “Keep the Feds Off Our Farms Tour” across Missouri. The Tour has included stops in Monroe City, Louisiana, Canton, Lebanon, Springfield, Mt. Vernon and Garden City, Missouri where he has discussed federal overreach into Missouri agriculture with area farmers and agri-business leaders.

“Missouri’s next Attorney General must be someone who is willing to fight for our family farms and our rural way of life. A champion of Missouri agriculture families and farms, Kurt Schaefer is the clear choice to be our next Attorney General,” said Scott Phillips, chairman of the Missouri Pork Association. “Kurt Schaefer has been a tireless advocate for Missouri farmers and Missouri agriculture not only during his time in the State Senate, but also throughout his legal career. We have seen our farmers strangled by needless rules and regulations and our Attorney General must be willing to go toe-to-toe with the federal bureaucracy against their unprecedented overreach. The Missouri Pork Association is proud to announce our support and enthusiastic endorsement of Kurt Schaefer to be Missouri’s next Attorney General.”

Schaefer, who practices environmental and agriculture law, has been a champion for Missouri family farmers and ranchers during his time in the Missouri Senate and his professional career.

“During my time in the legislature and my professional career, I have worked tirelessly to get government regulators and bureaucrats off the backs of Missouri farm families,” Schaefer said. “As Missouri’s next Attorney General, I will fight each and every day to stop the unnecessary red tape that has had a devastating impact on Missouri’s rural economy. During my travels across the state, I have received overwhelming support from farmers and agri-businesses and, today, I am honored to receive the support of our pork producers.”
