Columbia, Mo.—Angela King, a senior at Sturgeon R-V High School, has been chosen as a recipient of a $250 Missouri Pork Industry Scholarship from the Missouri Pork Association.
Angela is the daughter of Charlie and Suzanne King from Sturgeon. She currently works at Orscheln Farm and Home in Columbia, and on the family farm raising beef cattle and market hogs. She has also helped a local farmer with clipping goats and cleaning pens.
She is actively involved in many school organizations, including Future Teachers Association and the Teen Outreach Program, where she has completed over 70 hours of community service. She is a member of her FFA Chapter and is currently president. She also raises show pigs and participates in many shows.
Upon graduating, Angela plans to attend State Fair Community College and earn an associate’s degree in agriculture. She then hopes finish her bachelor’s degree and work in the agriculture field.
