Katie Steen Joins Missouri Pork Association
Spring Intern Spends Semester with MPA
Columbia, Mo.– On January 10, Katie Steen joined the Missouri Pork Association as the spring semester intern. She will work with producers and industry professionals to promote and organize events, including the Leadership Enhancement Program, Ag Day Pizza Party, and the Missouri Pork Expo. Her duties also include publication assistance for Missouri Pork Association promotional materials.
“Through this internship, I hope to gain a better knowledge of the pork industry,” says Steen. “More specifically, I’d like to learn how it affects the lives of Missouri farmers.”
Steen is currently a senior at the University of Missouri, majoring in General Agriculture with an emphasis on animal science, agriculture economics and agriculture education. She will be graduating in May. During the fall of 2006, Katie completed an internship with former Missouri Governor Matt Blunt. Steen is the daughter of Don and Alisa Steen, of Eldon, Missouri and a 2004 graduate of School of the Osage High School at Lake of the Ozarks.
