Steve Whiteside Elected to Missouri Pork Association Board
Columbia, Mo.,—Steve Whiteside, with Whiteside Hog Farms, Inc., has been elected Northwest Region Director for the Missouri Pork Association Board of Directors for a three year term.
Whiteside, of Chillicothe, is an owner and manager of Whiteside Farms with his brother, Jeff, and his father, Dale. Their farm consists of a 2,400-head finishing complex and a 4,000-head nursery facility. In addition to the hog farm, the family farms 750 acres of row crops and maintains a 100-head cow/calf operation.
Steve earned a bachelor’s degree in agricultural economics from Missouri Western State University in 1986. He is a long-time member of the Board of Directors of the Chillicothe Rural Fire Association, a former member of the NRCS Board of Directors, an agriculture advisory board member for Representative Sam Graves, a volunteer YMCA football and basketball coach, and a member of St. Columban Catholic Church.
Steve and his wife, Mary Pat, have two sons, Spencer and Alec.
The mission of the Missouri Pork Association is to enhance and optimize opportunities while eliminating or minimizing barriers for the success of Missouri pork producers and other industry stakeholders.
