Danielle Guilliams Joins Missouri Pork Association
Fall Intern Spends Semester with MPA
Columbia, Mo.,– On August 25, Danielle Guilliams joined the Missouri Pork Association as the fall semester intern. She has worked with producers and industry professionals to promote and organize events, including the FFA Pork Speaking Contest, Lunch and Learns, and the MPA Youth Ambassador Program. Her duties also include publication assistance for Missouri Pork Association promotional materials.
“Working for MPA has really opened my eyes to the business side of the pork industry,” Guilliams said. “I’ve been exposed to animal agriculture issues, both economically and politically. It has also reinforced classroom lessons about the importance of organization and communication.”
Guilliams is currently a senior at the University of Missouri, studying animal science. She will complete her undergraduate coursework in May, and enter the workforce immediately following. She hopes to pursue a career in swine production, and eventually focus on reproductive management. She is a former intern of AMVC Management Services in Audubon, Iowa. Guilliams is the daughter of Robert and Mary Guilliams, of St. Louis, Missouri. She is a 2005 graduate of Mehlville Senior High in St. Louis, where she was Editor in Chief of the school newspaper and active in other clubs.
