| Welcome to the official web page of the Missouri Pork Association. I’m Jim Fisher, Chairman of the Missouri Pork Association. It is an honor and privilege to serve as the Chairman of this great organization. I have been farming since 1976. My brother, father and I have a 2,500 farrow to wean hog operation in Middletown, and I buy and sell 150 calves each year. The Missouri Pork Association has played a key role in our family business. This great organization has provided our business with many opportunities, as well as provided valuable resources, which has enabled our business to stay competitive in today’s changing market. Feel free to look around our website and become familiar with the great services it provides. You can find the current markets at the click of your mouse, or the weather forecast. Looking for a new recipe, click on the Consumers tab. If you have a job opening on your farm, and are an active or allied member, you can quickly post the vacancy on the site for potential employees to see. Looking for quick access to Missouri’s Representatives and Senators, or how about information on a bill? Click the link under the Government heading. There, you will also find quick access to Representatives and Senators on the national level. Our staff works hard in Jefferson City and Washington D.C. to represent Missouri’s pork producers. I encourage each of you to get to know your legislators and encourage them to make decisions in the best interest of livestock producers based on common sense knowledge. You can stay informed on the latest news out of the MPA office through the Press Center. Be sure to visit the websites of our Allied Members via their links in our Allied section. We appreciate the support of all of these companies. Our members are very important to us, which is why we offer programs for our youth to encourage them to become involved and become leaders in their communities. Please take a minute to click on the Youth tab to learn more about “Pork 4 Kids”, FFA Pork Speaking Contest, Youth Pork Institute, and the Youth Pork Ambassador program. We welcome your opinions and suggestions and would love to hear from you. If we have forgotten something, or you have an idea on how we can improve our site, let us hear from you. Please contact our office if we can be of assistance to you. Jim Fisher |
